Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi made misogynistic comments about his daughters forbidding them from playing cricket, or any other outdoor game in his book.
Afridi on Friday received criticism for his stance.
He also described himself as a conservative Pakistani father who had made the decision for “social and religious reasons” adding, that “feminists can say whatever they want about my decision.”
“They have my permission to play any sport, as long as they’re indoors,” he added.
He said that he that his wife agreed with him.
The 44 year old all rounder, who was called “boom boom” for his aggressive batting style by fans, was criticised for his decision, below are a few reactions on twitter:-

To be honest, i wasn't expecting @shahidAfridi is such à conservative father. Being father doesn't mean he made every choice for his daughter. Yes, there are certain norms in religion, but this is inappropriate to restrict someone else interest only because you don't want.

Only if Shahid Afridi's daughters don't want to do outdoor sports by their own free will, can their decisions be respected.
