Indian fans were heartbroken after the Indian Cricket Team crashed out of the Cricket World Cup after an 18 run loss to New Zealand in the first semi final at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
While chasing the low target of 240, top four batsmen collapsed after scoring two dozen runs dumping India under great pressure.
To save India’s pride MS Dhoni walked in to bat after the dismissal of Dinesh Karthik as India’s score read 71 for 5. The Former India captain accumulated 50 runs before being mysteriously run out. MSD’s contribution almost put India back into the game proving why he was still important to the team.
Soon after the match rumors about Dhoni’s retirement surfaced. Social media across the globe have made emotional appeals urging MS Dhoni not to retire and #Donotretiredhoni was trending on Twitter.
Singing sensation Lata Mangeshkar too has urged MS Dhoni to remove thoughts about retirement from his mind.
Below are a few tweets:-
Namaskar M S Dhoni ji.Aaj kal main sun rahi hun ke Aap retire hona chahte hain.Kripaya aap aisa mat sochiye.Desh ko aap ke khel ki zaroorat hai aur ye meri bhi request hai ki Retirement ka vichar bhi aap mann mein mat laayiye.@msdhoni
