Myanmar Airlines Plane Lands On Nose After Front Wheels Fail To Eject

A Myanmar Airlines flight UB-103 made a horrific landing after the aircrafts lander failed, forcing the jet into an emergency landing with no front wheels on Sunday in Mandalay.

The aircraft was a Embraer-190 model, manufactured by Brazil was carrying mostly foreigners, all the 89 people onboard including the 7 crew members were safe. The Myanmar pilot saved the day!!!




The Myanmar’s Civil Aviation Department’s deputy director general Ye Htut Aung speaking to the media said, the pilot tried repeatedly to drop the landing gear at the front of the plane who first through its computer system, then manually.

“They tried hard twice by flying around twice and asked to check whether the nose wheel dropped or not. So they had to land with the back wheels… The pilot could land it skillfully.. There were no casualties,”  Ye Htut Aung said.

The nail biting touchdown saw the nose of the aircraft nose of the jet tipped over and ground to a halt.

Passengers later who were evacuated from the jet said that they saw smoke coming out from the aircraft when they landed. The incident was captured on camera.

This incident comes days after the Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane  slid off a runway while landing in Yangon airport during a storm on Wednesday, leaving 11 passengers injured.
