OnePlus officially launched its much hyped 55-inch QLED TV with a panel calling it a “sleek minimalist design” with a “nearly bezel-less screen.”
The OnePlus TV offers quantum dot color and supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The company claims the TV’s color range is best-in-class among QLED competitors.
The TV also has 50-watt, eight-speaker setup that provides “surreal surround sound experience” through Dolby Atmos support. The speaker bar lowers down from the bottom of the TV and rises back into the body when not in use.
The television runs on software called Android TV, but it works seamlessly with OnePlus phones, Google Assistant and Alexa. There’s a cover around back that pops off to reveal all of the usual connectivity ports.
The company revealed that OnePlus TV would be only launching in India for now with the OnePlus TV Q1 priced at INR₹ 69,900 (nearly $1,000) and the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro with a motorized soundbar selling for INR₹ 99,900 (approx $1,400).
The CEO Pete Lau last month said that OnePlus was working hard to launch the OnePlus TV in North America, Europe and China regions but only once they establish partnerships with most of local and regional content providers.
