Pankaj Advani wins 22nd World Billiards Title at the IBSF World Billiards Championship 2019

Pankaj Advani won his won his 22nd World Billiards Title at the IBSF World Billiards Championship 2019.

On Sunday, Advani breezed past local favourite Nay Thway Oo 6-2 in Mandalay to do what he does best — winning a World title.

This is Advani’s fourth consecutive world title in billiards in the short format (150-up).




After winning his 22nd title, Advani said, “Every time I participate in a world championship, one thing is clear – my motivation to excel has not diminished. This win is a testament to the fact that my hunger and fire are both well and truly alive.”

Pankaj Advani has won more world titles more than anyone in the world making him the greatest of all times. Advani has won a global title every year since 2003.

He is currently the only player in the world to win world titles in both short and long formats of snooker.



During his match against Oo Advani was in full flow right from the start. He got fluent breaks of 145, 89 and 127, to take a 3-0 lead. Oo pulled it back with breaks of 63 and 62, but was forced to watch Advani extend the lead as the Indian secured the next two frames, including a 150 unfinished break. After a reverse in the seventh frame, the Indian scored a 74 to close out the match.
