Two Russian Su-27 fighters drove away an F-18 aircraft belonging to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which attempted to approach the plane carrying Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday.
The chase took over neutral waters of the Baltic Sea.
TASS news agency reporter who was onboard the Russian flight said, Shoigu’s aircraft was returning to Moscow from the Russian Baltic region of Kaliningrad, that is surrounded by Poland and Lithuania.
A video of the incident shown on Russian state media showed a Russian jet sharply banking to the left in the direction of the NATO plane, forcing it to veer leftwards itself.
